Barry Wayne Watson, age 67, of Millersburg, died at home, peacefully, in his sleep on Tuesday June 22, 2010. Barry was born in Detroit on September 21, 1942, the son of Cletus Sr. and Emilie (Wagle) Watson. In 1964 Barry married Barbara J. Bellville in Troy, Michigan and in 1968 they moved to the Onaway area.
Barry worked at the Calcite Limestone Quarry in Rogers City as an expediter. He retired in 2004. Barry was a member of the Millersburg Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Onaway American Legion Post. He was an Air Force Veteran.
Barry enjoyed working on cars and motors, woodworking, and helping people. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was an avid gardener with an abundant harvest.
Surviving Barry are his loving wife of 45 years, Barbara of Millersburg; son, Brian and Lyn Watson of England; daughter, Bettina and John Samson of Missouri; and two grandsons, Tyler and Kevin Watson. Also surviving Barry are his parents, Cletus Sr. and Emilie Watson of Lakeland, FL; brothers, Fred and Sharon Watson of Hillsdale, Cletus Jr. and Pat Watson of Onaway, and Bill and Chris Watson of Lakeland, FL; two sisters, Helen Watson of Hillsdale and Sharon Lee Watson of Lakeland, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Barry was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Watson and brother, Allen Watson.
Cremation arrangements were in care of the Chagnon Funeral Home. A graveside memorial service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery on Monday June 28, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Donations in memory of Barry should be given to the Special Olympics of Michigan Area 2. |
